It's Getting BAD, kinda

July 20, 2007
Location: Rue de St. Sebastian Hotel, Paris, France
Time: 12:38AM

Today was a day of remembrance. At the beginning, I was very close to parting ways with Rome. The plan of the day was to fix the problem I was having with my camera, grab the 3PM bike tour-de-France, and sightsee the rest of the day, We made our way, to the Boulevard du Montparnasse to a store called "Darty," like a camera part store where this guy Rem worked, who spoke pretty good English. Unfortunately, he didn't have a charger that would work with my battery so he sent me in another direction to this store down the street called "Piles Expert" by Japanese restaurants and sex shops.

We were also, by the way, lugging around out packs that weighed about 80 lbs. alone. Not to mention the satchels, water bottles, and other shit we had to carry. The heat, exhaustion, and anxiety with both had led us to the boiling point. I swear to God I was about ready to ditch him by the time we reached the Cathedral de Notre Dame. However, after missing the bike tour AGAIN things got worse before they got better.

I did find a charger that worked, thank God, but on the way to this hostel I found online, I believed either he or I was about to part ways. We got into the room and exploded. Yet, the conversation that followed shed a little light on the situation and we compromised and decided to try and make a mens. We headed out to take some pictures at dusk, ate some McDonalds, I ordered a Royale w/ Cheese, and by the way, McDonalds in France is about a billion times better than ANYWHERE in the States. I checked out the town around the hostel, which was a gorgeous area (The Montparnasse). Checked out a market and and this inlet next to the Sienne River where some boats were docked and people were chilling.

We now have a new plan. Getting ready for Amsterdam tomorrow night. Take some sick ass pictures tomorrow. I pray that everything will go smoothly and the situation gets a little better with the fuckin' guy. Thank you Lord for giving me this amazing opportunity.
